Lesson Plan varies from Subject to subject, school to School and class to class. yet there are Certain basic essentials which must find a place in all lesson plan. There are various forms of written lesson plans based on approaches to lesson planning. As the instruction is objective based, it would be useful to present a lesson in such a way that one could easily visualize the interrelationship of content, objectives, learning activities resulting in learning experiences and evaluation. This type of lesson plans are known as ‘behaviouristic’ because it intends to achieve measurable behavioral outcomes. A horizontal approach in which content, objective learning experiences, evaluation etc are given Side by side, in separate columns may serve this purpose.

According to Simsons ( (993) Construction is an approach in which the learner is building in internal illustration of knowledge, a series interpretation of experience..

importance of Lesson Planning
( a) It helps the teacher to make his whole work well organised
(b) It guides the teacher to fulfill different aims and objectives of the lesson in hand.
(c) It is a time Saving device.
( d) It helps a teacher to make the maximum use of his Teacher's Guide Book" for planning and delivery of lessons in a particular Subject.
(e) It helps a teacher to improve his art of questioning while he is engaged in delivering his lesson.
( f) It is a tool to assess the work of a teacher as also his class with regard to teaching success
( g) It helps a teacher to estimate how much knowledge, skills etc can be passed on to students in a week or a day. He accordingly adjusts his planning

General Essentials of a Good Lesson Plan
(a) It should neither be too long nor too short, but Should be' to the point’.
( b) The levels of the class and the mental age of the students Should always be kept in mind while making a good lesson plan. So the method Procedure, techniques etc should match with

(d) Examples given in the lesson Should be related to the daily life situation of the children.
( e) The aims and objectives of a lesson should be Stated very clearly
(f) There should be scope for recapitulation, motivational, choices ate of the lesson so as to make it effective
(g) The lesson should be covered in The prescribed time and the period of delivery
(h) It should be child- centered, and the pupil Should be involved in the lesson.
(i) It should meet the present as well as the future needs of children.
( j) home assignment given to pupils should be in class, close relation with the lesson delivered in the class
( K) Suitably chosen illustrations in science should be presented in an impressive manner
(I) The lesson plan Should be written carefully and each step or sub-step should be clearly
explained.
